Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Manuscript preparation.
- This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
- All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
- Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
Article
Scripta Mechanica welcomes submissions of high-quality original research articles that contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge in mechanical engineering and related disciplines. Authors must ensure that their work adheres to the following guidelines:
Scope of Original Research
Original research articles should:
- Present novel findings that advance the field of mechanical engineering or related disciplines.
- Demonstrate rigorous methodology and robust data analysis.
- Include clear implications for theory, application, or future research.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Mechanical design and analysis
- Stress and structural mechanics
- Numerical simulation and computational mechanics
- Experimental mechanics and validation studies
- Mechanical behavior of materials
- Advanced engineering applications and materials
Submission Criteria
To be considered for publication, original research articles must:

Be Original:
- The research should not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere.
- Authors must disclose any prior dissemination, such as conference proceedings, and explain how the manuscript extends beyond those works.

Follow Ethical Standards:
- Adhere to ethical research practices, including obtaining necessary approvals for experiments involving humans or animals (Publication Ethics Statement).
- Disclose conflicts of interest and sources of funding.

Meet Journal Standards:
- Be written in clear, concise English, with a logical structure and thorough discussion.
- Include all necessary components, such as an abstract, keywords, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and references
- Comply with Manuscript preparation istructions.
Peer Review Process
- All submissions undergo a single-blind peer review, where reviewers remain anonymous to the authors.
- Articles are evaluated based on originality, significance, methodological rigor, and clarity of presentation.
- Authors may be asked to revise their manuscript based on reviewer feedback.
Publication Ethics
- Manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using advanced detection tools. Any significant overlap with existing literature will result in rejection.
- Authors must appropriately credit all contributors and sources.
Formatting and Submission
- Manuscripts must follow the journal's submission guidelines and be formatted according to the provided template.
- Figures, tables, and supplementary materials must be clear, relevant, and properly cited.

- Articles accepted for publication are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), ensuring global accessibility and visibility.
